What to do at La Garangeoire

Whether you want to relax by the pool, cycle or take long walks in the stunning countryside, or practice your favourite sports, you're sure to find something for everyone at La Garangeoire, even if you are a party with different interests. We have four large fishing lakes which cater for beginners and fishing experts. 

The swimming pool is usually at the centre of a campsite holiday, and you can see why at La Garangeoire. You'll have a job to tear the children away from the lagoon with its own white sandy beach. La Garangeoire has four swimming pools, including a main outdoor pool, a pool under cover, a paddling pool and an activity pool with slides. The outdoor pools are heated for the whole season.

You can enjoy pedaloes, canoes, and rowing boats on the main lake of La Garangeoire. If you don't want to be on the lake, you can enjoy the trails around it. There are many hiking trails around the lake for you to explore on your own or join in with organised walks. Don't forget to take a tour of the chateau while you're there, and If you've ever fancied riding through trails in the forest, this is the time to try it. 

Of course, no campsite would be complete without tennis, football, basketball, volleyball, crazy golf, trampolines, go-karting, archery and many other mini activities. 

Enjoy varied cuisine at the high-quality campsite restaurant with creche, bars with Sky Sports TV, a takeaway and a supermarket.

Near La Garangeoire Campsite

It's tempting to stay on site for the whole holiday. There's so much to do. However, if you do want to venture further afield, you won't be short of things to do in the Vendee. The La Garangeoire campsite resort is also popular for hikers and cyclists because of the vast networks of sign-posted routes. The coastal route includes 150km of track dedicated to cyclists. Routes include coastal paths and cliffs with stunning views and characteristic towns.

Most towns and villages hold a summer fete which will include regional produce, dancing, jousting and antique fairs, which will vary depending on the history and culture of the area. It's a great opportunity to mix with locals, experience the local cuisine and introduce youngsters to new experiences. International music festivals are popular and include Le Poupet at Saint Malo du Bois in July.

You'll find many towns within easy distance of La Garangeoire campsite, but worthy of note is St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. This seaside resort is renowned for sardines and is the oldest port in the Vendee. For a great day out, plan a trip to Puy Du Fou. Puy du Fou is an amazing theme park 50 miles from La Garangeoire. The spectacles include chariot racing, a stunning amphitheatre, gladiators and lions and falconry displays, to name just a few! The shows are spectacular, and it is the largest tourist attraction in the Vendee.
