Access to Rome via public transport is easy from the campsite. It’s best to avoid taking your car into the centre, as the city is well-known for its busy traffic.

For a fascinating day trip, visit the excavations at nearby Ostia Antica, where the shifting mud of the River Tiber preserved the remains of an ancient Roman city. Excavations have uncovered baths, theatres, temples, and streets that bring ancient life vividly to light.
